Re-entry Justice

Program

The Re-entry Justice Program offers expungement services and driver’s license reinstatement.

Expungement

Help Desk

The American Bar Endowment (ABE) Opportunity Grant Program helps to fund the work of our Expungement Help Desk.

What is an expungement? In Indiana, access to an individual's criminal history can be limited through expungement. This can be done by submitting a petition to the appropriate local court. The petition can be filed by the individual (pro se) or by hiring a private lawyer.

In Need of an Expungement?

Our Re-entry Justice Program works to remove barriers to successful re-entry by limiting access to criminal histories through the expungement process. We also provide referrals to partnering organizations, other social service providers, and community-based organizations.

Driver’s License

Reinstatement

The Driver’s License Reinstatement Program offers free services to help individuals with restricted licenses to regain driving privileges.

A driver’s license can be suspended or invalidated for reasons like failure to pay tickets, failure to appear in court, failure to pay reinstatement fees, child support issues, insurance issues, and more. Driving restrictions can last months, years, and even lifetimes.

How Can the Clinic Help?

We can help seek traffic ticket and reinstatement fee waivers, negotiate suspensions related to child support obligations, and obtain specialized driving privileges when other options are exhausted.
