This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity and coincides with our “Talk to an Attorney Tuesdays” Facebook Live schedule: Every Tuesday, 5:00 PM EDT
To better meet the needs of our neighbors during this time, we are offering weekly bilingual Q& A Sessions on our Facebook page. Every Tuesday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM EDT, one of our staff attorneys will go LIVE to provide timely legal information and answer questions from the public on the week's topic.
Topics include Unemployment Law, Wills & Estate, Survivor Remedies (for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault), Tax, Criminal Record Expungement and Driver's License Issues, Housing Foreclosure Prevention, Housing Landlord-Tenant Issues, Family Law, and Immigration.
If you have an advanced or native level of Spanish and English, would you consider providing one-time or recurring interpretation and/or translation services? If so, please start and complete the brief application process below.
Interpreters needed:
We are in need of native or advanced Spanish speakers able to interpret consecutively for the presenting attorney. Our staff attorney provides viewers with a topical overview and then answers any questions that come in through the Facebook comments. This is all done on a Zoom video call streamed through Facebook Live. These sessions are recorded and will be archived with other helpful Clinic resources on our website. Here are some examples of past Q&A Sessions.
Translators needed:
In addition to the live Q& A, we also want to provide our neighbors with a one-page summary document of the legal information presented. We are in need of native or first-language Spanish speakers able to translate these documents, which will be archived with other helpful Clinic resources on our website.
