The Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic assists hundreds of immigrants each year in obtaining various forms of relief. These clients face unique legal challenges. This year’s annual Immigrant and Victim Justice Program full-day CLE*, "Representing Our Immigrant Neighbors,” will seek to explore the scope of legal issues related to immigration work, while equipping legal professionals to respond to these challenges.
Participants will learn about (1) 2019 Immigration Updates, (2) Asylum Topics at the Border, (3) Waivers, (4) Ethics in Working with Criminal Defense Counsel in Representing Foreign Nationals, (5) the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), (6) Special Immigrant Juveniles, and (7) U Visa Advanced Topics.
Choose to participate in the full day, morning session only (3 credits), or afternoon session only (5 credits).
Lunch included with half-day and full-day CLE ticket - 12:00 PM
This event is in partnership with Barnes & Thornburg, LLP.
