Expungement & The Impact of a Second Chance

Course Description
This 1-hour CLE will provide an overview of Indiana’s Expungement Law, including a summary of the categories for expungement, eligibility criteria, and excluded offenses. It will also provide a summary of the law’s impact on employment discrimination. The speaker will show sample petitions and orders and give practical tips for filing expungements on behalf of clients.

Presenter Bio
Allie DeYoung joined Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic in October 2020 and focuses her practice on re-entry matters, including expungements and driver’s license issues. Allie oversees the Clinic’s partnership with HVAF, providing legal assistance to veterans experiencing homelessness and works with the Clinic’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. Allie graduated from IU McKinney in 2011, and prior to joining the Clinic she was in private practice in Indianapolis.
