ICYMI: February 2020

This February, we celebrated the work of our many volunteers. Your service is a blessing to us and to our neighbors. Thank you for your kindness!

On the blog, we introduced you to two of our volunteer attorneys: Jerry Kelly, who helps take on various types of immigration cases, and James Skill, a cancer researcher who went to law school so that he could volunteer for the Clinic! We also shared a special message from Community Partnerships Manager Ben Hayes.

On social media, we shared a few different volunteer highlights, including Hannah Edwards, who is a student completing her social work practicum by volunteering with the Clinic this year; Erin Meyer, a long-time Fort Wayne intake volunteer; and Kristin Ullom, a volunteer with a heart for immigration issues.

This month, we also had the opportunity to volunteer as a staff team for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis. We were grateful to have the chance to bond together, learn new skills, and help our fellow neighbors! To see all of the photos from this event, please visit our Facebook page.

On February 28, we hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Open House at the beautiful Trinity Episcopal Church. Over 50 people were in attendance as we enjoyed delicious food catered by Red Habanero, gave away volunteer gift bags, and got to know one another. Whether you were able to join us for this evening or not, please know that we are so grateful to every single Clinic volunteer for the myriad ways they serve us and our community.
